Interesting comments, Antonio. Definitely paid apps are the way to go in order to make a profit on the iPhone (or any mobile platform available). The biggest issue that I have is app longevity. For example, my apps, if left for some time without further investment, eventually become stagnant and begin generating less and less revenue.
However, I haven't found much evidence suggesting that mobile advertising is profiting for developers and even less on generating revenue through web based apps on the mobile platform. As such, I totally agree that paid apps are the way to go. Just need to find the right niche markets and add value. Otherwise apps become lost in the saturated app store.
Nice post dude.
