Unfortunately it comes down to the contract that authors have to sign with the publisher a lot of times.. it prevents us from giving away large portions of the book without their authorization.

One way to get around it is by blogging about the contents of the book, which lets you slip in some of the good bits without giving away so much the publisher gets mad.
