I have the Apple Care plan, maybe that is the difference.

In my own experience, Macs are great for the office user, but for development I have found lots of problems, dealing with fink ports from Linux, the delay in Java versions, and just controlled by Apple, the need for server versions to run Oracle, etc… no DB2 till recently…

I am using a nice T60 and it is a great laptop, go for the T61…

I think Apple is more interested in selling phones than computers…
