ive been doing pretty heavy front and backend web development on my toshiba chromebook 2 (celeron) for a couple years now. I have it configured with crouton, but I mainly ssh into a digital ocean droplet for all my development. crouton is cool, but ive found the only use case is when I need to work with no internet, like on a long flight.

I really like developing on chromeos. my gripes are that i wish that the stock build was more developer friendly ( i dont want to have to boot in dev mode) and the Toshiba is just a bit too slow to do front end development comfortably. I am on the lookout for a good replacement laptop and am open to any OS, but IMO chrome os is almost perfect for my needs.

Wow, never seen those. Really nice but the price goes up pretty quickly but the specs do sound great. Something you're considering? I am looking at Lenovo X1 Carbon more seriously too. Those keyboards are really nice.

I actually did consider the 13" Asus in my original post. I found the Lenovo to have a better keyboard however, and the Dell XPS a nicer screen. So I originally focused my attention more on these two. But I genuinely like the Asus Zenbook lineup.

The 15" is quad core so it's beefy. Why didn't you consider Asus?
